Born and raised in Northern California, Jim Anderson made his way to North Dakota after a career as a touring and studio drummer.
His professional musical experience includes tours, TV, and recordings with:

- The Tom Johnston Band (original and founding member of the Doobie Brothers)

- Norton Buffalo
- Roy Rogers (the blues guy)
- Alex Call (songwriter extraordinaire)
